This would be the mark that they had already been in here for almost a whole day…if the holodeck chronometer was still functioning right. "I can hack into their system with this computer. Their security systems will go into auto maintainance mode giving us 5 to 6 minutes window to sneak in." Divay explained. “Good, that’s all the time we’ll need,” she said, knowing it was now her turn to explain what she had come up with. She then rolled out a piece of paper that looked like blueprints to the building. “This here projects the probable entry of most of the people working here. Obviously either we’ll never get in this way, or we will under disguise, yet again. Personally, I’m opting for going in another way.” <> “At any rate they have what looks to be a scientific room over here,” Davis said, circling the point on the map with her finger. “I’m betting our people will be in there looking for a way to shut down the holodeck or get us the hell out of here. It’s going to be tricky getting into this part of the lab because of all the security checkpoints, so here’s the plan…” Grabbing three small black radios from under her jacket, she handed one to Divay and one to Trew. They were small and portable walkie talkies. “I saw a few kids using these earlier, I figured we might need a way to communicate seeing as how our communicators don’t seem to want to function well in this environment. Must be whatever’s affecting the rest of the ship.” <> “Set your..radio..to channel 9. Lets hope no one else is on that channel. Ok…we’ll enter here on the roof of the building. There’s an emergency escape that leads up there plus a helicopter pad they apparently use to transport sensitive biohazardous material. That door leads down a staircase and from there we can get onto any floor we want. So far it looks like we want floor 14, which means we’ll be climbing down 12 flights to get there. Once we’re there, Divay, you need to set up the security and get me in. After you let me in I want you two to go around to the other side of the building on the same floor and come in from the rear entry. That way we each have more of a chance to find out people. Now remember, we have these radios for a reason. Use them, but be careful. If anyone gets in your way it won’t be exactly easy to act nonschalant, so do what you must to survive. Another thing to remember…this is only a holodeck with the safties off, things could still change at any given moment. Questions?” <> “I’ll wait and give further orders once we’re inside the building. The sun’s starting to go down now. We’ll give it another half hour and then go in. I just hope it’s not too late,” she mumbled to herself, watching the sunset and praying at the same time they would all come out alive. (Reply Davis, Trew) (Posted Ash Divay) (USS Dennison-Holodeck 1-CO Madison Davis-19:16) Having rested for almost thirty minutes, Davis was ready to go out and get her two crewmembers out of that building. Getting all their plans and equipment ready to go, she asked, “Ready?” <> “Lets head out,” was all she said before leading them across the street and into the night. The mass amounts of people had already gotten off of work earlier, she had noticed. That still didn’t mean there wasn’t anyone inside now however. Slowly, Davis kept quiet, going from walking to running and back to walking again. Soon she found herself at the back of the building where they were getting ready to climb up the emergency ladder. All was quiet. Davis had already put her finger to her lips, signaling for the others to remain quiet as well. As she turned her attention to climbing the ladder, she was startled when she heard, “A message from Lt. Semme." Ready to defend herself, she swiftly turned around…only to see the EMH standing before her. “Do you have to be so loud?!” She scolded in a harsh whisper. “Nevermind…what’s going on?” She listened as the EMH filled her in on the details of Night and Semme. “They’re both on level 6. She then looked toward Divay and Trew. “Alright, we’ll do the same plan, only this time we’ll go in to level 6 instead of level 12 as I predicted earlier. Since they’re both in there we’ll start out together instead of separated. Nick had sent the EMH over 2 hours ago and he couldn't get him back. He had stayed put for that amount of time. He had stayed at the console and continued working on things, he had been able to activate several un-necessary systems but nothing perfect. Suddenly the EMH shivered back into existence. Nick stood up furiously, "What took you so long?" He whispered. The EMH looked at him, "Don't blame me; blame your computer systems. I was with the captain for little under 2 minutes." Nick shrugged, "And?" "Stay where you are. She is coming in, she's going to try and activate the holodeck protocols from the inside." The EMH said. (Reply any) (Posted by Jono) (USS Dennison-Holodeck 1-CO Madison Davis-19:32) Leaning against the wall to take a breath, Davis was glad they had finally accomplished climbing the fire escape to the top floor of the building. It would be best to take the approach of climbing down floors instead of trying to go up. This way they ran a lower risk of running into anyone. After taking a few minutes for everyone to catch their breath, Davis asked, “All right, you remember the plan?” <> “Good. Once we’re inside and on the same floor we’ll need to go in through different entrance ways.” Making sure everything was secure in her belongings, she said, “Lets do it.” As she watched Divay set up the computer protocols to the door, she kept a look out for anything suspicious (other than them, of coarse). They needed to be able to get in undetected and Davis knew it would take Divay at least three minutes minimum to set up all the equipment. “How’s it coming?” <> Finally, she heard a ‘beep’ detailed with a green light, and she opened the door while Divay salvaged the equipment together. Carefully, they stepped inside the building. Stopping for just a moment, Davis listened for the sound of any footsteps that could be heard. Hearing none however, she pointed down the staircase, and started leading the way. “See if you can find an access panel before we reach floor 6,” she whispered. Davis hadn’t seen one yet, but the sooner the better. She needed to get to one to talk to Semme and find out where they were being held. (Reply: Divay, any) (Posted by: Stacey) (USS Dennison-Holodeck 1-ATAC/SEC – Ensign Ash Divay – 1933) It was dark night and three figures were climbing their way up the fire escape ladder. Ash felt the weight of the equipment getting heavier as they climbed up. ~What the hell is wrong with me I use to be a marine~ He thought After taking a few minutes for everyone to catch their breath, Davis asked, "All right, you remember the plan?" Looking at his CO Ash said "Aye ma'am, we are ready" "Good. Once we're inside and on the same floor we'll need to go in through different entrance ways." Making sure everything was secure in her belongings, Davis said, "Lets do it." Coming across a door they all stopped and Ash knew what needed to be done ,he pulled out the computer from his bag and set it up on the console ,he inserted a wire from the computer into the console and started running bypass on the security system ,finally Ash managed to reach his destination the main command processor. "How's it coming?"Davis asked "Almost there !"He replied Ash took a few more seconds but managed to make the processor think that security system is under maintenance. Instantly the green light came on the door lock and the locks opened . All camaras started going down and motion sensors were off. Davis was first to open the door and enter, Ash picked up his equipment and followed her in. Stopping for just a moment, Davis listened for the sound of any footsteps that could be heard. Hearing none however, she pointed down the staircase, and started leading the way. Ash followed her . "See if you can find an access panel before we reach floor 6," Davis whispered Ash looked around ,he couldn't see one near him , "Aye ma'am, ill look around"Ash said Ash walked a few meters and saw a guard leave a room and enter an elevator ,luckily the guard failed to notice Ash and others who froze where they stood. Ash slowly moved forward and peeked inside the room tru the little window in the door. It was a security room ~Perfect~ Ash thought There was a guard inside reading a magazine, Ash noticed a access panel in there also. He signaled others to follow and cover him. Finally entering the room and knocked the guard with a karate chop. "Captain there is a Access panel inside. we can use that "Ash said to his CO (Reply Davis, any) (Posted By Ash Divay) Mission: Supernatural, Day 2 Stardate: 2407.02.15 (USS Dennison-Holodeck 1-CO Madison Davis-12:45) Climbing down the stairs and being as careful as she could, she also busied herself with looking for an access panel. ~Any panel would do,~ she thought, impatiently. It wasn’t long however, until she heard her tactical officer exclaim that he had found one. Turning to look, she could see that he was right…however it was through into another portion of a secured area. Nodding to Ash, she took guard right outside the room as he went in. Stealthily, he came up behind the guard, gave him a karate chop, and knocked him onto the floor unconscious. Seeing no one in sight, Davis quickly followed up into the room. “Cover me,” she instructed Divay as she started to fiddle with the access panel. Once she got the cover off, she pushed a few buttons on the inside, then said to herself, “…but that doesn’t make sense…” Trying once more, she entered in another series of commands and found it to be true. They were actually into the next calendar day on the ship. ~But how is that possible?~ As she kept digging through the system, she found that the EMH’s internal chronometer was the same of the actual day and date, however they were not. “So that’s why it took so long for the EMH to get here,” she whispered aloud. Apparently they had been in there for longer than they thought, for the day was actually the 15th and they had entered the holodeck on the 14th. It finally made sense to her. The EMH was coming and going in an instant in his time, but it was feeling like it had been up to hours for them all because their times and days had been off balance. Now that she had figured that out, she went through the communications grid to try and get into contact with Semme. Thumbing in another set of commands and rewiring one portion of the panel, she tapped a button and said, “Davis to Semme…can you hear me?” <> The first transmission was a bit garbled. She could barely understand him. So she tried again. “Davis to Semme.” (Reply: Semme, Divay, any) (Posted by: Stacey) (USS Dennison - Holodeck 1- A'CEO, Lt(jg) Nicholas Semme - 12:33) Nick had continued to sit by the control panel for what seemed to be hours before the EMH fizzled back into view. "What took you so long?" Nick said as he stood up, he swayed slightly with weariness but quickly shook it off. The EMH Looked at him quizzically, "I've been gone a matter of minutes, Young Sir." He said quite quickly. "You have not." Nick said matter-of-factly "You've been gone for a hell of a long time" He said to the EMH. "Something must be wrong with the circuitry." He said out-loud. He sat back down and began examine the access port. He began fiddling around with internal sensors and couldn't get anything out of it. He turned to the EMH after having a brain-wave. "What's the time?" He asked quickly. "1240" Was the answer the EMH gave. ~That cant be right~ Nick thought. "What's the stardate?" He asked, "2407.02.15" was the answer. "The stardate at this time is 2407.02.15" Nick said. “I know, I just found out myself Lieutenant.” Sighing a heavy sigh, she then asked, “Where exactly are you and Night?” <> “We’re on our way,” Davis said, pointing in a different direction of which they came. As Divay acknowledged her, they then went forward, all the while still trying to stay low and out of sight. However that didn’t last for long as a second security guard came out of the woodwork unannounced. “Ash!” Davis exclaimed, wanting to turn his attention to the security guard and take another route. But it was too late. In the moment it took for her to shout his name and try and yank him aside, the guard had pulled his weapon out and shot Davis as she tried to reach for him. The blast hit her square in the right shoulder. At first, she kept staggering with Divay as to get away from the guard. Then she realized…~It doesn’t hurt.~ “It doesn’t hurt!” Davis said, excitedly. ~Maybe they got the safeties back on and the ship is back to normal.~ Taking her left hand and feeling all around the ‘wound,’ she discovered that all that was there was a ‘mark’ that she had been hit, but nothing had invaded her body. “Maybe they got the safety protocols working again. See if you can change the scenario or exit the holodeck,” she told Ash. <> For a moment, nothing seemed to work. Then they started to spot small glitches in the walls, enabling them to see the guard on the other side. Lucky for them, his back was turned and he could not see them. The hologrid was starting to show in various places, giving Davis the idea that maybe they couldn’t exit the holodeck, but they could end the program. “Computer, end program!” She shouted. Astonished, the walls around her faded and the original hologrid appeared with everyone who had entered the program earlier that day. ~Or rather, yesterday,~ she corrected herself. Spinning around, she saw Semme, Night, Banowsky, Divay and the body of Loyola. Though she saw all her crew that came with her, she also saw Night laying on the floor. Running over and kneeling beside her, Davis tried to give her a small nudge to wake her up. “Ensign…wake up.” She said. “Ensign Night…Elenor, wake up!” But to no avail. Nudging her once more, her head turned to the side, and Davis opened her mouth wider as she saw a small puncture wound on her head. It looked as if a needle or some foreign object had entered her skull. “We need to get her to sickbay, now!” Davis yelled. However she watched as one of them tried to exit the holodeck and it failed. No one could get out. They were all still stuck in there. “Lt. Semme…why would we be able to end the program, but not get out of the holodeck? Or better yet, why couldn’t we change the scenario but we could end it?” <> “You may be right,” she mused. There were a million possiblities. The doors could have been jammed, the computer was down, or simply not responding to commands at the moment, etc. As for the program, it could have been something as simple as not being able to change it because that would have been a more complex command rather than simply ending it. “At least they got the hologrid to work so we could end the program,” she said. “I guess we wait it out for now. Is everyone else alright, is anyone hurt?” She asked, trying to get a better picture of her surroundings. Looking up and all around the holodeck, Davis was trying to find an access hatch for a jeffries tube that Semme spoke of. She knew he was right, after all, her and Trewe knew the specs of the Dennison better than anyone on that ship. It was a CO’s duty to know. “Alright,” she responded. “Commander, how are you feeling right now?” She asked. <> “I want you and Lt. Since no one knew what had happened to her, Davis wasn’t sure how long she would last in this condition. Then there was Ash. He seemed to be coughing up blood for some other reason, to which she didn’t know why. She did, however, want to dress him down later for telling the guard to shoot him, but now wasn’t the time. ~Time…we’re running out of time…~ (Reply: Banowsky, Semme, any) (Posted by: Stacey) (USS Dennison-Holodeck 1 – ATAC/SEC – Ensign Ash Divay – 1253) ~Hope no one saw that ~ Ash thought but then he noticed Lt.Semme walking towards him, Semme walked over to Ash and said, "Ensign I would suggest sitting down, You seem to have internal bleeding. More movement could rapidize how fast it takes to make you un-conscious." Ash looked at him and decided to give in to what Lt had asked him to do ,~he was obviously right~ Ash thought as he allowed his body to slide down against the holodeck door and he was finally on the floor with his right hand over the part of his chest where the pain was. Semme then turned to Captain and said "Captain, If I could speak freely?" Nodding her head, Davis said, "Of coarse, Lieutenant. What is it?" Ash felt weak ,unable to help. "There should be a hatch somewhere around here. A sort of emergency escape hatch which leads into the Jeffries tubes. A few of us could take that route and help from outside the ship, however I wouldn't suggest taking the injured." Semme looked towards Ash and Night. Ash noticed his CO looking around for a Hatch, that's when his hearing was getting weak and his eyes felt heavy. But still he managed to keep em open , he knew it was not a good idea to let em close. Tell him we have injured in here and we need to get to sickbay right away. Ask him for a status report!” Alahan rushed to the doors. He tried to pry the doors apart with his hands. No results. He looked around for the emergency release. After opening the protective hatch for the manual release, Alahan discovered that the circuts were fried. He sighed to himself. "Mr. Temerarious, can you hear me?" He pounded against the doors of the holodeck. "Mr. Temerarious?!" << Reply Temerarious>> Alahan looked around the room for something he could use to pry the doors open. (USS Dennison - Holodeck 1 – ATAC/SEC – Ensign Ash Divay – 1336) As Temerarious and Trew worked together to pry the door open, they finally managed to get a long enough tool into the door track that held the door partially open. Stepping into the room, Temerarious saw Captain Davis for the first time in person "Howdy all, I'm Ensign JG Chance Temerarious and I'll be your rescuer this afternoon." The rescuer said. With that being said Temerarious nodded, responding “Yes sir.” and heading off to find a crew. As he returned to his station “Now, to find the kind of being for this mission where should I start looking…” snapping his fingers “…I got it. I’ll start with the disciplinary records in the security chief’s or better yet, the ships legal files.” As he did, Chance smiled to himself transferring information on almost a dozen beings to a blank PADD he found. “Now I should be able to find 4 or 5 to go on the ‘Hawk.” he said to himself intent to recruit his crew. (USS Dennison –Bridge–Ops ENS (JG) Chance Temerarious –1009) As he entered the bridge, Nymes rattled off commands. "Chance, report on status - are all sectors clear of personnel?" Not yet out of his chair, Chance turned to his console looking up the information that was requested “According to available reports; yes sir, all sectors are clear.” Temerarious replied hoping to make a temporary escape from the bridge. "Okay, what about the status of the holodecks? Any changes there?" “No changes thus far, sir.” After listening to a conversation between Lt Nymes on the bridge and ENS Jacobs in engineering; thinking to himself “That should give me 30 minutes.” Chance got up from his station and headed for the turbolift “Sir, I have to go below to finish up an assignment Cmdr. West gave me.” Temerarious didn’t bother to wait for Lt. Nymes to respond before the lift doors closed. (USS Dennison – Bridge –Ops ENS (JG) Chance Temerarious – 1040) Chance stepped out of the turbolift with a self satisfied smile on his face because he had found a crew. He even liked them, which was good. Once back on the bridge his smile faded. “Now all I have to do is sell it to the man in charge.” Chance whispered to himself. After returning to his station Chance worked up a report for Cmdr West and sent it. The report stated “Sir, please understand that I would feel better about this if I also went myself sir. That being said…I got a crew of 4 for the Star Hawk sir. I found a pilot, engineer, and 2 gunners; one of the gunners is also a combat lifesaver sir. But there are a couple of glitches, sir. The whole crew is made up of enlisted personnel and they are all awaiting non-judicial punishment from the captain; the worst being the pilot. A PO1; he broke his supervisor’s jaw because she called his mother a …a…prostitute, sir. All 4 agreed to go on this mission with the hopes of being given no more than a letter of reprimand for their offenses in their service files. All I told them sir, was that if they made it back alive, then I would talk to you about talking to the captain on their behalf sir. Here is a list of their information and the offenses they are accused of sir; should you choose to speak to the captain IF we all make it out alive.” (USS Dennison – Bridge–Ops ENS (JG) Chance Temerarious –1114) Nymes finished walking to and from the bridge stations - status was confirmed, and ready. Chance had spent the last half hour steeling himself for the forthcoming reprimand that he knew he rightly deserved for leaving the bridge the way he did. All he heard from Nymes though was "Commander West to the Bridge." (USS Dennison –Bridge –Ops ENS (JG) Chance Temerarious –1118) After Cmdr West made a speech to the bridge crew Nymes nodded and gritted his teeth, and opened the medical kit he had replicated earlier. Stepping forward, he quietly asked the officers on station for permission to carry out the inoculation. "Chance?" he asked. "This may sting a bit." As he tried to relax his body, Chance heard the hiss of the hypospray. Unable to resist his first reaction he blurted out “OUCH! That damn well hurt!” "Sorry about that." The doctor said, with complete honesty. Moving to Tactical, he administered the cytoprotective drug to Ensign Martine, and whilst she was wincing, quickly moved back to the "center circle" of the bridge. Chance started to quietly laugh at himself. He didn’t mind getting shot, stabbed, or beaten; but he absolutely didn’t like inoculations for any reason even though he understood why they were important and he got them…whenever he couldn’t get out of it. Trevan looked at Chance, then Bracken and Lewis in turn. "Prepare to deploy four quantum torpedoes. Full power to the forward shields. Helm, lay in a course 180 mark 0. Program the helm to engage full impulse 2 milliseconds after the first torpedo detonates." Nodding an acknowledgement of his orders, Chance turned to his station and went to work. “Sir, quantum torpedoes ready for deployment; Operations standing-by.” (reply West) (posted by Charlie) (USS Dennison, Engineering, ACEO Ensign Christopher Jacobs, 1007) It was almost an hour later before Christopher got his next set of orders. The team comprised of Cadet Halsla Saxeil, A bajoran helmsman, his uniform still crisp from the replicator, his eyes brighter than bright. And Eddie was the other member of the team, and the IC of the battle bridge. He was a tall, tanned betazoid, and was a regular in the Security/Tactical briefing sessions run by Mr Divay. "Okay everyone, lock down stations to bridge controls, message the Bridge panel when its done." he said, his voice betraying the sense of helplessness he felt ~doing nothing...~ He looked aorund the spartan room. Most of the panels were dark, running on safe modes. The central security panel, as a contrast to the main bridge, was set above and behind the bridge chair, allowing the SEC/TAC to oversee the bridge if required. Eddie could see that the cadet was nervous, and he didn't need his telepathy to discover or read Saxeil's emotions. "Calm down, cadet, this will all be over in a moment" he simply said, sharing a glance with the other enlisted crewman on the deck. =/\=All hands, this is Lieutenant Nymes. Eddie was standing behind the cadets station now, watching the cadet tap the correct controls. ~this kid is ready...~ Explosions rocked the ship, and the proximity alert klaxons sounded; dashing back to his station, the betazoid saw the explosions were far too close to be helpful... and were emitting a strange, polarised radiation, which was tearing through the shields: 20%.... 4%.... no shields... It didn't start immediately, but it continued inexorably: first his ears popped; and his hearing disappeared; his eyes clouded over, a dark fog appearing in his vision, but by then he was gasping ineffectively on the floor, as his lungs paralysed and immobile, no air in nor out. His heart, enlarged by the strain, beat tachycardically, the blood remaining in stasis. His skin was crawling, as if insects were beneath it, blistering and rupturing, clear fluid oozing from the sores. As his vision faded, he fell against the ship-wide communication channel, and activated it, and lay gasping for help. ".......elp u.s......... why lea..e... us?" was all he managed to say. (reply Bridge) The cadet lay sweating on the floor by his station, in shock at the 2PO's actions, and illness, unaware that the same radiation had affected him in much the same way. He brushed his sodden hair back with his hand, and looked astounded as it fell away in his hand, a greenish tint embellished in its very structure. "Helm is the computer programmed?" (reply helm) "Good. Chief, fire torpedoes." At first there was no sound or sight of the deployed torpedoes, then slowly they drifted into view. One of them slowly faded as it passed into the wormhole field. "Alright, here we go folks. Detonate!" he said slamming is fist on the arm of the chair. The deck tipped to port as the ship swung around trying to defy the inertial dampers, then with a mighty blow they were thrown forward as the shockwave hit the starboard shield. Over the alarms, some of which Trevan had only heard in simulations, he shouted "HELM! 180 mark zero!" then a moment later a second blast from the rear as they tried to out ride the shockwave from the blast. "WARP 9! Get us out of here, any heading for three minutes and then come to a complete stop!" When the engines stopped they were free and clear of the anomaly, however the Bridge looked like hell. Trevan lifted himself off the deck and realized that he had been thrown forward about two meters and blood was pouring out of his nose. He wiped it on his sleeve of his uniform and then looked around to survey the damage. (Reply all) (Posted by Kerry Fletcher) (USS Dennison - Bridge - ACSO Dale Bracken 1121) "All hands, this is Commander West in forward command. We are about to attempt a manoeuvre that will jostle us around a bit so please brace yourselves." Dale had to admit that she was worried. She was one of only 3 people on board that was aware of the complete plan and the reasons for it's rushed implementation. She knew that if they failed that it would destroy them, she knew that if they refused then the ships currently holding just out of sensor range would come in and destroy them before destroying the wormhole. She also knew, ans the ship's ACSO, that they could be destroyed even in the attempt of this plan. ~All in all~ she thought, It was going to make for an interesting morning. Dale hit a few keys, a sequence that she had programmed herself to run all scanners continuously and also collate all data from the probes that were still streaming data into the main science station. Then, and only then, did she brace for impact. She watched the torpedoes enter the wormhole, hoping beyond hope that it wouldn't be seen by anyone who may be watching from the other end. She was confident that the ship was hidden, the modifications had been made to the shield and were working well. Dale was more than a little proud of that little idea She became aware of the ship tipping. On her arrival on the Dennison, she had been amazed by Trewe's ability to 'feel' what was happening to the ship. Now however, she felt that she was beginning to share that ability, she was conscious of the engines, the ship's attitude as a whole. Indeed, it seemed her work on Project Darkstar had improved her knowledge no end. She must have hit her head. Some three minutes had passed since the detonation, 3 minutes that she had no recollection of. The ship had come to a full stop, Dale pulled herself up off the deck and returned to the main science station. Around her all was in chaos, the Commander, himself now back on his feet began looking round the deck, surveying the same chaos that Dale was seeing. She saw Nymes, making his way around the bridge crew, taking scans and giving out shots with the hypospray, slowly, he made it around to her. (Reply Nymes) "I'm fine Lew" She said throwing him a smile, "Just a knock to the head I think. I;m fine. There's those that need you far more than I do..Go!" She nodded as she spoke, assuring him that all was okay. (Reply Nymes) Dale turned to the screen in front of her, shaking her head clear while she began to go through all the scans that had been made during the time that she was unconscious, Dale really wanted to make sure that the wormhole had gone. Silently praying and giving thanks that he was still alive “I must be alive, otherwise I don’t think I would hurt this much.” he said aloud to nobody in particular. As he sat up he started get up Chance caught sight of Trevan as he lifted himself off the deck with a look of realization that he had been thrown forward about two meters and blood was pouring out of his nose. As Trevan wiped the blood on the sleeve of his uniform and was looking around to survey the damage. Once he returned to his station, Chance compiled reports together from the different sections. “Commander, I have ships status reports. They look good for the most part. "Good job Chance," he wiped his blood again, "See to everything and then get yourself fixed up. "Helm is the computer programmed?" "Helm programmed, aye, sir." Nymes was short and accurate with his response, as he tapped the controls to the helm. "Good. Chief, fire torpedoes." Silence. That was all Nymes recounted after the order was given, utter silence. The red alert klaxon seemed to have faded from existence as the entire bridge crew watched the staticy viewscreen and the shadowy forms of the torpedo-mines exit the ship, and cross the quantum thresholds. "Alright, here we go folks. Detonate!"West said, adamantly. Nymes got ready on the controls. The explosion sucked the ship within the anomaly further, the shield grids not holding, and the stabilising fields affected as well - the ship lurched to port as the crew clattered to the deck. Nymes was thrown from his seat, his saving hand plunging through the helm control panels, lacerating his arm serverely. Sound returned. "HELM! 180 mark zero!" Nymes didn't dignify the order with a response. "WARP 9! Get us out of here, any heading for three minutes and then come to a complete stop!" "Warp nine ordered. Current velocity is Warp seven point four. Warp instability rising. - ah ****, warp reactions uncoupled, sir: we are dead in space, point six light-years out from the explosion point. Helm controls are offline..." Nymes reported. (Reply all) (Posted by GC) (USS Dennison – Bridge –CMO -Lt.jg Lewis Nymes, 1130) Nymes finished his one-handed operation on his own arm, the dermal regenerator bloodied and soot covered after the use, and looked up around the bridge. Martine was in a bad shape: her leg was definitely broken, but the bulkhead had stopped her fall across the bridge, and the trauma to her head was bad. Very bad, considering there was no way of getting her to the sickbay for appropriate treatment. Nymes loaded an analgesic hypospray, and injected it into the ensign's neck, the relief seen on her face was immediate, and she fell into a slight sleep, grimacing as waves of pain crossed over her body. Continuing his triage, Nymes saw the 2O wiping himself down, and mentally noted to treat him later on, and saw that Chance was cracking jokes, albeit bad ones. His turn in the queue could wait - the tricorder scans confirmed that the ex-privateer wasn't injured - just bumps and bruises. "Chance. Grab a medical tricorder from the emergency kit and keep scanning Ensign Martine." (reply Chance) That left Dee. Nymes had been in medicine long enough to know that sometimes, somehow, there was a feeling you could get before seeing a patient - knowing that this one wouldn't be easy. "I'm fine Lew" She said throwing him a smile, "Just a knock to the head I think. I'm fine. There's those that need you far more than I do..Go!" She nodded as she spoke, assuring him that all was okay. Nymes said nothing - Dee couldn't see the cut on her face was weeping a river of blood, and ran the tricorder over her body with a look of professional and personal worry. ~Grozit~ the trill thought, reverting to Xenexian profanity - it was the only word that did the situation merit. "Dee, you have a nasty cut there. You need medical attention now." (Reply Dee) Dale seemed to not have listend to the trill at all. Whether she could hear Nymes was a query in itself, and a worrying one for the doctor. (reply Dee) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison – Bridge –Ops ENS (JG) Chance Temerarious – 1127) "See to everything and then get yourself fixed up. Send damage control teams to the major affected areas and then let's get those people out of the Holodeck. I am sure that they were thrown around pretty good too and they didn't have any warning." Tevan instructed. “Roger that sir.” Chance replied as he turned back to his station and opened a comm. channel “Bridge to Engineering; ya’ll okay down there?” (reply Jacobs) “Is there anything we can do, or that we could shut down from up here that will help make it easier on you to make repairs?” (reply Jacobs) “Very well, Bridge standing by. Bridge to Mr. Semme; is everybody alright there? Is anything new happening with Holodeck1?” (reply Semme) “Anyway we can help from up here other than trying to drop everyone on their head?” Temerarious inquired with a giggle that could be heard over the comm. (reply Semme) “Very well sir. Bridge is standing by.” (reply Jacobs, Semme) (posted by Charlie) (USS Dennison – Bridge –Ops ENS (JG) Chance Temerarious – 1133) "Chance. Grab a medical tricorder from the emergency kit and keep scanning Ensign Martine." Looking up from what he was doing to see who was speaking to him; “Sure thing Doc.” responded Chance while getting up from his console; he picked-up the tricorder, preceded to Martine. As he scanned her with the tricorder, Chance sat next to her and started quietly speaking words of comfort and encouragement. As he continued to scan Martine with the tricorder, Chance remembered back when he was a privateer and realized that he ran out of things to say. In a calm tone, Chance started telling her stories of encouragement from when he was a privateer, knowing that she probably couldn’t hear him through her drug-induced sleep, but to tell the stories did Chance some good to. As he spoke, Chance was looking around the bridge and noticed that some of the other wounded that was close enough, and awake enough, to hear him were listening to his stories. Chance continued to monitor Martine, and was thankful she was fighting to hold on. As he kept telling his tales, Temerarious was thinking “If nothing else, I can get their minds off of their injuries, if only for a short time.” He did notice that the more he moved and spoke, the harder it was getting for him to breath. (reply none) (posted by Charlie Raschen) (USS Dennison – Bridge - ACSO Ens Dale Bracken, 1135) "Dee, you have a nasty cut there. You need medical attention now." Dale honestly did not hear the Doctors reply. She knew that it was a major fault of hers that she would carry on far longer than was ever sensible. This last 24 hours had shown that to her, and really should have served as a warning to the young ACSO, but she was as stubborn and mule-headed as was her father. ~Damn head won’t clear either.~ She became aware over the next few moments of one or two things. Firstly, Lewis was still standing next to her, a concerned look on his face. Secondly, although her vision was okay, there was a persistant ringing in her ears, to go with the still thumping head. “I’m sorry, Lewis” She turned back to the trill doctor.”Trying to do to much. I’m just a bit keen to see that the w…” Dale managed to stop herself from fininshing the sentence, “…anomoly has cleared. You’d better have a look at the head doc, still smarts a little. Damn ears are ringing too.” (Reply Nymes) “I know” She replied, making conversation as He continued his scans. “I’m as stubborn and obstinate as my father. If you think I’m a terrible patient, you should meet him. He was an MCPO, total work-fiend. I’ve got most of his bad habits I’m afraid” (Reply Nymes) (Posted by Mark) (USS Dennison – Bridge - ACSO Ens Dale Bracken, 1018) "Ok, Dee," he said, speaking quietly into the ACSO's ear. "What's the problem?" “Best I don’t say here” Dale said in a whisper “It’s about the quantum blasts.” Motioning that Dee should get up from her station, Nymes led her to the replicator panel in the aft of the bridge, chatting as they went. Ensign Martine seemed interested in the conversation, but Nymes spoke clearly as the duo passed the CONN station. "Time for your innoculation, Dee. (what is it?)" “I’m Sorry Lew, There’s nothing that I can do. The torpedoes are out only option. With a full crew, a fully functioning ship and a whole library of feynman diagrams showin every possible neutrino interaction, I could possibly do it; but under these conditions? I’m really sorry lew, I’ve let you down. I can’t do anything this time, no tricks left in Dale’s bag today.” (Reply Nymes) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison – Bridge - CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes, 1137) Nymes waited for Dee to reply. She tried to maintain her professionalism, but her usual grace and alertness as she gazed at the screen in front of her seemed odd, a strange out of focus appearance crossing her face. It just added to Nymes' worry. “I’m sorry, Lewis. Trying to do to much. I’m just a bit keen to see that the w…” Dale stopped, and smiled as she corrected herself, “…anomoly has cleared. You’d better have a look at the head doc, still smarts a little. Damn ears are ringing too.” "Just let me get my job done now, Dee; worry about yours in a while, ok?" Nymes said, opening the tricorder, knowing what he'd find before it was confirmed. Gritting his teeth, Nymes faced the eternal medical conundrum: knowing too much about a patient, and how to break the news. “I know” She replied “I’m as stubborn and obstinate as my father. If you think I’m a terrible patient, you should meet him. He was an MCPO, total work-fiend. I’ve got most of his bad habits I’m afraid” Nymes suppressed a laugh. In the smokefilled bridge, the pair of them seemed to hark back to the first moments that they had met - after transferring to the Dennison less than 2 months back. Then, the two ensigns had struck up an easy-going friendship, keeping the other sane in the hectic life of the Ens.jg. Now, Nymes was damn sure he'd keep his friends around - war or no war. "Dee..." he said, lowering his voice to a whisper. "I can't sugar-coat this..." (reply Dee) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison – Bridge - ACSO Ens Dale Bracken 1140) ”Dee...” he said, lowering his voice to a whisper. "I can't sugar-coat this..." “I’d be rather insulted, and think less of you and our friendship if you did. What’s up Lew?” Dale replied, her head thumping, seeming to be getting worse as she continued to speak. She looked around the bridge, the smoke hadn’t yet cleared, turning back to him she spoke again, gently this time, worried. Dale was a highly intelligent woman, and the face that Lewis was showing was enough to really throw her into a panic. “Lewis, what’s up, It isn’t the bridge is it that’s hazy? It’s me, head injury…Lewis, tell me.” (Reply Nymes) She looked at him, perhaps in horror, perhaps in complete lack of understanding, the room was swimming again. Instinctively she reached out and steadied herself on him. “Lewis, I’m…scared.” (Reply Nymes) (Posted by Mark) (USS Dennison – Bridge - CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes 1141) ”Dee...I can't sugar-coat this..." “I’d be rather insulted, and think less of you and our friendship if you did. What’s up Lew?” Dale replied, her face blanching by the minute. Nymes tried to keep professional, but this was a good friend; he smiled in spite of himself. “Lewis, what’s up, It isn’t the bridge is it that’s hazy? It’s me, head injury…Lewis, tell me.” she persistently asked. ~What to say? How to say it... Grozit, this is hell...~ "Dee, you have a sub-dural haematoma, basically you are bleeding around the brain. I need to get you through an operation as soon as possible. I can give you medication that will knock you out now, and possibly slow the damage down, but we need to get going now, okay?" Dee looked around again, and pitched sideways, grabbing Nymes' sleeves as she did so to steady herself. Nymes needed to act, and act now. The casualties of this action were mounting up. “Lewis, I’m…scared.” "I know Dee." Nymes squeezed her hand, giving Dee the support she needed through this. "I Know." Nymes prepped the hypospray with the anasthetic agent and pain killers ready to start things, but he needed somewhere to work. (reply Dee) (USS Dennison - Bridge - CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes - 1143) "Trevan, Chance, your assistance, NOW." Nymes barked his order across the bridge. He had got the emergency stretcher ready to go, but there was no way a trill could move Dee unless he was a genetically altered klingon or something. (reply West, Chance) "I need your help to move Dee... Ensign Bracken... to the Conference table in the briefing room now." (reply West, Chance) "No, no time for questions. This overrides any agendas, gentlemen." (reply West, Chance) As the two got in position, Nymes took station at the ensign's head. "Okay, Dee, We're going to have to move you to the briefing room. See you on Risa, Sweet dreams." Nymes said, administering the drug. (reply Dee) "Three, Two, One, Brace, Lift, Slide." Nymes ordered, and followed the stretcher to the conference room, managing the pair of officers to lie Bracken down on the conference table, within easy reach of the edge. (reply any - operation post to come after some replys) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison, Bridge, Commander Trevan West, 1144) "Trevan, Chance, your assistance, NOW." Nymes barked his order across the bridge. Trevan swung his head around and looked at the Doctor. "I need your help to move Dee... Ensign Bracken... to the Conference table in the briefing room now." Trevan barked his reply, "Chance is needed at Holodeck One, I can't abandon the Bridge." Trevan pointed to the two still able bodied crewmen at the aft science station, "You two, help Doctor Nymes." He then saw the three of them carry the Ensign through the doors into the briefing room. "Chance, get your butt down there on the double. They may have injured in there and we don't know a damn thing. Report any progress on your ideas." Trevan then began the arduous task of moving some debris and strewn wires to the side of the command chair so he wouldn't trip on them. His injury still hurt like hell, but he sure wasn't about to leave his post to have something done about it. Trevan wiped the blood on his already bloodied sleeve and was thankful the blood flow was subsiding, otherwise he would be wearing a very deep red uniform. (reply all) (Posted by Kerry Fletcher) (USS Dennison - Engineering -ACEO Ensign Christopher Jacobs- 1130) As the explosion rocked the ship, Jacobs was thrown from his station, colliding with SOMETHING behind him. Head slammed against metal and it wasn't until the chirp of his combadge sounded that he actually roused himself to conciousness. =^="Bridge to Engineering; ya'll okay down there?"=^= Fingers rubbed the bridge of his nose, head shaking, trying to get his wits back in place. "Engineering here. Yeah, I'm alright...just a little shaken." =^="Is there anything we can do, or that we could shut down from up here that will help make it easier on you to make repairs?"=^= "Yeah. Either tell me how everything went or send someone who can. Other than that, I'm we're fine down here." Christopher rose to his feet, hand held to his forehead to try and stop the throbbing pain. Eyes searched through the department, making sure everyone was ok. A few had been knocked from their feet, but none of the injuries had been severe or life threatening. A sigh of relief escaped his lips, moving to lean against his station. ~"At least we're alive."~ Clicking his badge, he called back to the bridge. (Reply Temerarious, bridge) (Posted by Nick Wreden) (USS Dennison – Conference Room - CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes 1145) Nymes continued to get organised to start the procedure. It wasn't the ideal environment, but in this situation, the facilities offered by a damaged sickbay wouldn't be much better. "Nymes to Hed... Cancel" Nymes began, but thought better of it: the PO would be ludicrously busy triaging any minor injuries. ~need an assistant though...~ "Nymes to Duande. Report to Deck one Briefing Room, immediately." (reply Duande) Diane Duande was a medically trained ensign, but not a doctor. Nymes had often wondered how he would manage as the only doctor on the vessel, but as Gr'iann was aboard then, it fell to Nymes to assist as and when required. Now, he was on his own, and a MO, heck, even someone who knew which end of a hypospray cartridge was the right one would be useful. The trill walked over to the replicator, and was relieved to see it still functioning - possibly the only system in the ship that seemed to be working properly, and accessed the medical files, replicating the surgical apparatus that he would need. As he waited for his assistant, Nymes prepped Dee for the surgery, creating a sterile field around her, gowning up, and getting ready for the surgery - this was not a procedure that was going to be easy; and it was feasible that the CMO would have to get his hands "dirty" during it. Donning the green gown, he rubbed the sanitiser on his hands, watching the little electric display turn green as his hands were cleaned. After this, he put on the gloves, and organised his trays beside his patient. (reply Duande) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison – Bridge – ACSO Ens Dale Bracken 1142) “Lewis, I’m… scared.” "I know Dee." Nymes squeezed her hand, giving Dee the support she needed through this. "I Know." Dale found herself lying on the deck again, she had no immediate memory how she had got there, but assumed that Nymes had helped her down, putting her trust, no, her life in his expert medical hands, she began to relax, albeit only slightly. “Lew, did it work? Has it gone?” Dale didn’t know if she was heard, or even if the words out of her mouth were making sense to anyone near her. If there was anyone near. ~no,~ she thought ~Lewis is there, he wouldn’t leave, must relax. Silly girl~ (USS Dennison - Bridge - CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes - 1145) Dale drifted slightly her mind wandering as two other officers appeared at her side, if she was at all worried now, it was buried under the pain and confusion, the dizziness was increasing, her eyesight even hazier than it was before, and the ringing in her ears showed no signs of abating. "Okay, Dee, We're going to have to move you to the briefing room. See you on Risa, Sweet dreams." Nymes said, administering the drug. “Aren’t you supposed to get me to count down from 10 or someth….” The rest of the sentence was lost, flowing away as the final tincture of her consciousness disspiated. "Chance, get your butt down there on the double. They may have injured in there and we don't know a damn thing. Report any progress on your ideas." “I’m on my way, sir.” Chance hollered as he got up off the deck from where he was monitoring Martine with the tricorder. Holding his side in pain he headed for the turbolift. Once the doors closed Temerarious concentrated on his breathing because it steadily got more and more difficult to breathe. (USS Dennison – Holodeck One –Ops ENS (JG) Chance Temerarious – 1300) The journey to Holodeck One took a lot longer than expected because the ‘lift worked as badly as it did when he first got on board, but once he got there he saw some tools and other equipment there but didn’t see anyone. After taking a quick inventory of what tools that was there, Chance grabbed something that he could swing like a club. Hitting his comm. badge, Chance started hitting the doors to the holodeck as he yelled over the comm. channel “Temerarious to Semme!” BANG “Can you hear me?” BANG. (reply Semme) Chance wasn’t totally sure if he had an idea, but he figured that if he couldn’t find them inside, then he might as well try and break the door down. While he was swinging he heard and felt a terrible “CRACK” from his side. The pain was bad enough that he dropped to his knees, but once he got past the pain he realized that he could breathe easier. Tapping his badge again “Temerarious to anyone in Holodeck One, please respond.” (reply any in holodeck) (posted by Charlie Raschen) (USS Dennison – Bridge –Ops ENS (JG) Chance Temerarious – 1135) Sitting at his station wondering how bad the damage really is Temerarious responded to a communiqué from Jacobs in engineering “This is the bridge; what can we do for you?” (reply Jacobs) (posted by Charlie Raschen) (USS Dennison - Briefing Room - CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes - 1150) Nymes looked down at the prepped field - a silver sheet covered Dee almost completely, leaving a small, sterilised square of skin on her temple showing. A few moments work with a razor removed the hair around the site Nymes needed to operate on - something that could be easily restored later on, after the operation. "Okay, Miss Duande, let's get started." (reply Duande iyw) "Computer, begin verbal and visual recording, Medical logs." [... Recording Initiated ...] "Stardate 2407.02.15, Time: 1150 hours. The patient is a 25 year old human female, with sub-dural haematoma due to severe head trauma, sustained 10 minutes previously. The field is prepared, being operation: Dr Nymes. Medical Officer Diane Duande is assisting." Nymes always found it useful to talk his way through the beginning of an operation, to focus the mind on the task at hand whilst starting the surgical procedure. He was adept at Accident and Emergency - Medical or Surgical, but in this day and age there were rarely injuries that required direct access, invasively operating on the patient. Sometimes, events conspired against the doctor though, and needs must, and Nymes needed to operate. "Duande, Oxygenate De... I mean the patient," Nymes stated clearly, as he began the initial incisions through the layers of the scalp. (reply Duande iyw) Time elapsed. The briefing room light dimmed, and returned to full brightness, then started flickering, but Nymes continued, almost oblivious to the environment as he focused on the task at hand. He disposed of the blade and started on the vascular repair side of the operation - Dee's middle meningeal artery on the left hemisphere had been puntured; a tricky repair to achieve due to human anatomy and its relation to the cranium, and the bony pterion, but an achieveable repair. Gradually the blood appearing in the incisional cleft stopped filling as fast, and was whisked away by suction; Nymes' hands working as fast as they could, to avoid complications after he had finished. "Vascular repair is completed, site is visualised, scans confirm successful repair. Time is 1233 hours. Beginning closure." Nymes took the osteoregeneration kit from its place on the tray - an easy bit of kit to reknit the bone again ~how did doctors manage without it in the past~ - and finished with old fashioned sutures to stitch the skin back together, prior to dermal regeneration. As Nymes finished the repairs, he reran the tricorder scans, making sure he hadn't missed a trick; satisfied, he nodded to the ensign, and asked her to clean up the operating area - sterile field and all. "Computer, Operation completed, Patient in post-op, time is 1243 hours. End recording, file in the Medical database, send a transcript to the Captain and FO." [... Actions completed...] As Nymes returned to the table, he saw an errant drop of blood that had negotiated its way around Dee and the sterile sheets to the table, a blep of blood sitting neatly on the white surface of the briefing table. Smiling as if he had seen the joke, he returned to Dee's side, and collected a hypospray to remove the anasthesia. "Dee," he said, as he pressed the injection into her neck, "Its Lewis. Its been a success, you should be okay now." (reply Dee) "No, don't try to move: I need to get you to sickbay for post-op - you need to take it easy for a few days, on doctor's orders!" he said, giving a smile. "This drug will make you feel a little groggy, but its nothing to worry about - Diane is going to stay with you here until i can sort out how to get you to sickbay, is that okay?" (reply Dee, Duande, any) (posted by GC and jono) (USS Dennison - Briefing Room - CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes - 1245) Nymes ruffled his hair as he replaced the hypospray on the tray, and finally stepped away from the table, exiting the briefing room towards the bridge. What I know for sure is that shields are down, turbolifts are questionable, communications are hit and miss, and maneuvering is off-line. Also, we need power to allsickbays. I’m sending you a copy of the damage report thus far; I suggest ya’ll start with the vital systems first, work your way down the list checking all systems and making repairs as your crews go.” Temerarious knew he should have conferred with Cmdr. There was still a pulse, but her respirations had decreased slightly. ~I hope they hurry up!~ The impatient woman that she was, she knew she had little choice in a matter such as this. BANG! BANG! BANG! Snapping her head up in the direction of the holodeck doors, Davis heard, “Temerarious to Semme!” BANG “Can you hear me?” BANG. “We’re in here!” Davis yelled back, hoping Temerarious would hear her. “Trew, go to the holodeck doors and see if you can’t help pry the doors open with Temerarious. Tell him we have injured in here and we need to get to sickbay right away. Ask him for a status report!” <> Knelt down with Night, she continued to stay by her side until they could resolve their situation. (USS Dennison – Holodeck 1 –Ops ENS (JG) Chance Temerarious – 1315) Pulling and pushing, he it wedged into the door seam and began hammering at it forcing the door to open just enough to get a stronger pry bar into the opening. I will need to observe all the holodeckers to be sure that there's been no ill effects from the radiation exposure." Nymes looked at Trevan, his eyes clear. "Don't give me that "Officer on the bridge" excuse, Commander. If its that important to meet the CO, you can come to Sickbay, Ensign Martine can look after the dead CONN station." Let me see that." He said. "Ah, it doesn't look too bad, Let me scan it for completeness..." Nymes ran the tricorder over the PO's hand, and was shocked to find the results matched the ones he took from Ele. Directly down to the genetic level. "You and Ele couldn't happen to be twins? Didn't think so..." "Viral toxin? Maybe... viral engineering?" Nymes asked. "Analyse the transporter scans, and her respiratory scans." Acting carefully, but quickly, Nymes introduced a chest drain to relieve the pressure, and started the transdermal repair; clinically running the instrument over the skin, and calibrating the depth on the secondary controls. A few minutes work, and it was completed. (USS Dennison - Sickbay - CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes - 1410) Nymes returned to his thrid patient after looking at Ele's scan results. "Ash..." Now she wanted to know just what this was about, or rather, if it dealt with anything other than what they were already facing. Madison hadn’t been to sickbay yet, she wanted to know everything West had to tell her first. (USS Dennison – Turbolift –Ops ENS (JG) Chance Temerarious – 1350) Riding the turbolift to the bridge, Temerarious remembered a rescue mission during the war were he got so angry. The Klingon stopped the Andorian’s take-off and the mission was completed, but in his anger Temerarious beat the Andorian to death with a piece of pipe. I did notice that the Holodeck had 2 less crew-members when I entered than was logged in when the program started running; I’m not sure who they are though.” Looking around the bridge and taking another deep breath to calm himself enough to speak normally. Chance squatted down next to West “I don’t know who wrote that program sir. That… that… individual is responsible for everyone in there being bloodied and/or broken as they got in that program and should be held accountable.” (reply West) As Trevan finished speaking, he got up and headed toward the Ready Room. Ash then noticed Trew entering the sickbay . "Boy am I glad to see you Alahan" Ash said to Trew "It is good to see that you are recovering Mr. Divay." Alahan smiled slightly. "We would certainly miss you at the daily security team meetings. When are they going to permit you to leave?" "I'd leave now if I could, Doc has some kind of restraint placed over my body and cant move a muscle and its driving me crazy" Divay said (Reply Trew) "Yeaaa…So how are others doing ?" Ash asked Trew wanting to know the status of crew members he was unable to protect. (Reply Trew) "Ohh Good, Glad they are ok. I think we screwed up as a security team. We should have protected them." Ash said to Trew (Reply Trew) "Yea I know we did our best, but…no nothing no but. Your right we did our very best. And hey you can cover my back anytime." Divay said to Trew (Reply Trew, Any) (Posted Ash Divay) (USS Dennision - Sickbay - Ensign Alahan Trew - 14:22) "I'd leave now if I could, Doc has some kind of restraint placed over my body and cant move a muscle and its driving me crazy" Divay said "Indeed." Alahan glanced at the biobed monitor. "I could disable the security field and we could make a run for it, but where would we go?" He laughed to himself a bit. "The doctor would have us both restrained in the brig." "Yeaaa…So how are others doing ?" Ash asked Trew wanting to know the status of crew members he was unable to protect. "Everyone seems to have had only minimal injuries. All easily fixed." "Ohh Good, Glad they are ok. I think we screwed up as a security team. We should have protected them." Ash said to Trew He sighed. He thought about what Ash said for a moment. ~We should have protected them.~ Alahan knew that they had a job to do, but not everything is so simple. The last time he failed to protect someone, it was his life partner that died. He swallowed hard. "Umm yeah. I wish that we could have done more." "Yea I know we did our best, but…no nothing no but. Your right we did our very best. And hey you can cover my back anytime." Divay said to Trew Alahan smiled. "Mr. Divay, I'm sure you have been told this before, but that is much easier said than done. You have a tendency to rush in where angels fear to tread." He glanced again at the bio read out. "Besides, I was apparently a better engineering candidate than a security officer." He half smiled. "I almost got everyone killed. Another incident like this, and I will have to consider a career change." "I have a few questions for both of you, if I May." "Can you give me any information regarding Elenor Night's injuries? What caused them, for example?" (reply Trew, Ash) "And have you had any contact with Miss Night since she was found unconcious? Did you give any first aid at all?" (reply Trew, Ash) "Did anyone come into close contact at all?" (reply Trew, Ash) Nymes turned back to the biobed readings as the two officers answered his questions. He considered this to be a random assault, but worryingly, it seemed to be a real "holographic" virus, and transmittable as well - Dylan Hedges may be walking around but he was infected. Considering how innocuous the inoculum was, Nymes was worrying how easy the virus could spread, and needed some help. Unfortunately, first things must come first - he needed to know who was exposed, and quarrantine them. (repl Ash, Trew, room for more) (USS Dennison - Sickbay - CMO Lewis Nymes - 1441) "Computer, start CMO Log, stardate 2407.02.15, 1441 "The holodeck has finally been deactivated, but this engineering feat has not ended the crisis on board, which may now be more severe that when we were trapped in the spatial anomaly. Ensign Night was medi-vacced to sickbay suffering from what appears to be a viral genetic re-enginneering to produce certain compounds in her blood. The virus seems to have been introduced via two sites - posterio-inferior to the pterion, and in the muscle body of SCM. So far, my analysis of the virus is inconclusive, although I suspect it to be blood-borne only: MO/PO Dylan Hedges is now confirmed to have the virus following a handling accident of the blood products of Miss Night. I am disturbed by the small amount of virus required to infect a new host, and may need to enforce a quarrantine to avoid further contamination of the crew. "With Ensign Bracken in post-op, I feel that the genesis of a anti-viral drug may be a day or two off from starting. "I am still waiting for the Captain and FO, as well as Lt. Semme, to report to Sickbay for a Medical Debriefing. I Can only hope that no-one attempted first aid on Elenor as this may have caused the viral infection to spread to yet another host. "End log. Trew Said to Divay Feeling sorry for the man "No like I said we did our best."Ash told Trew "U know I was a Marine before I joined Star Fleet, I lost some friends in a excersie . Belive me I blamed my self for all who died that day.I was the only one left alive in that sqd, all the men including my sqd leader were killed.that day. Trust me don't go down that road . or might end up like me. Haha" Divay Said to Trew (USS Dennison - Sickbay – ATAC/SEC – Ensign Ash Divay – 1426) Then Divay and Trew were intrupted by Doctor Nymes. Nymes said to both Divay and Trew "Can you give me any information regarding Elenor Night's injuries? What caused them, for example?" Nymes asked Ash looked at Trew for a second and then back at Nymes and said "No sir, we both were no where close to Night when she received her injuries" "And have you had any contact with Miss Night since she was found unconcious? Did you give any first aid at all?" Nymes Asked Ash waited for Trew to answer first this time. Then he said "No sir,As soon as the holo program went offline I walked over to the door trying to get it to open. Few minutes later I collapsed due to pain in my chest." "Did anyone come into close contact at all?" Nymes Continued asking "I think Captian and Lt. Semme may have come in contact with Night sir.But I am not sure. What do u think Trew ?" Divay said (Reply Trew) A little bit worried look was evident on Doctors face. Ash noticed it and asked the Doctor "Mind telling us what's all this about sir ?" "Need i remind you about the surgery you've just been through? Ash, you will stay put. Alahan, I asked for you to turn up twenty minutes ago, and even though you are the first here, I am not impressed by your dilly-dallying. (reply Ash, Trew & DEE) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison - Sickbay – ACSO– Ens Dale Bracken – 1450) Dale woke slowly, finding herself once again in sickbay. She was uncertain of the time, and even less certain how long she had been asleep. Looking round the room, she saw the medical staff moving around the other biobeds faces showing concern. From her viewpoint, Dale was unable to see who was occupying the other beds, but part of her knew that it would be someone from the senior crew, whoever they were, they seemed to be getting a real roasting from Dr Nymes. She remembered the moments leading up to her being knocked out. They had attempted an audacious manouver, setting off a quantum blast to close what Starfleet Intel had found out was an artificial wormhole, a real threat to Starfleet security. Quickly she realised that she had no idea if the plan had actually worked, no idea if the wormhole was actually closed. “Dr Nymes, a moment of your time if possible” (Reply Nymes) “Look I need to get out of here Lew, I need to see if we succeeded. I’ve got scans to run and stuff. I’m going crazy just lying here, I need to do something” (Reply Nymes) (Posted by Mark) (USS Dennison - Sickbay – CMO– Lt.jg Lewis Nymes – 1451) “Dr Nymes, a moment of your time if possible” "Sure Dee, what do you need?" Nymes said, his anger abating in a second, his bedside manner returning instantly. “Look I need to get out of here Lew, I need to see if we succeeded. I’ve got scans to run and stuff. I’m going crazy just lying here, I need to do something” "I understand, but... no, Dee. You, like Mr Divay over there, need your rest. But I do need a scientist to help me: One of the trapped officers from the holodeck was infected with a real virus, and its altering the genome. I could do with a better idea of which antiviral to use to slow, stop or preferably reverse the effects. More worryingly, Dee, its blood-borne, and has already been transferred to someone not in the holodeck. I'm close to ordering a medical quarrantine of the holodeckers before clearing them for duty - I'm hoping that a simple scan of the crew who were trapped will make that a tad over the top, though." (reply Dee) "Yes, Dale, the crew is freed from the holodeck, and the "anomaly" is closed." (reply Dee) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison - Sickbay – ACSO – Ens Dale Bracken – 1452) "I understand, but... no, Dee. You, like Mr Divay over there, need your rest. Dale listened to lewis’ debrief, it made her even more anxious to be up and around, back on duty ASAP. However, she was not one to completely disregard an order, not directly anyway. Nodding as he drew to a close, she could see the worry on his face, the situation that rested on his shoulders. “Okay, I’ll help you from here. Bring me a PADD with all the information that you have, I want protien sequences, enzyme reactions and any propogation data if you have it. Now I’m no biologist Lew, but I’ll do my best to help you out.” Dale looked back up at him, her attention had wandered away as she had spoken, “You said “mr Divay” That means we got them out the holodeck, and the thing is closed?” "Yes, Dale, the crew is freed from the holodeck, and the "anomaly" is closed." Dale relaxed, it brought to an end a chapter that would remain on her bio for her entire career, but only a very few, select, individuals would ever be able to access the information. She sighed gently, the stress of one job ebbing away, just as the prospect of a whole lot more lab work began to rear its ugly head. “Could you get Sanders to act as runner. He can go between here and the Xenobiology labs.” (Reply Nymes) “and doctor…”she said, motioning him back with a winning smile. “Thank you.” (Reply Nymes) (Posted by Mark) (USS Dennison-Ready Room-CO Madison Davis-14:26) It had been about 20 minutes since West had left her ready room. Knowing that he would probably be done with getting tidy, she thought about asking him to the bridge once more so she could go to sickbay. There were several cuts on her left arm, but only one that was hurting her. Looking down at her arm she could see the crusted blood that had dried over the cuts. Madison also saw what looked like a red streak gliding down part of her arm. ~Damn it, it’s infected,~ she thought. ~Must have been when the werewolf attacked us.~ She thought about how long and sharp his claws were, and started to center her thoughts around that. Shaking herself from her reverie, she slapped her commbadge. “Davis to Banowsky.” <> “Have you been cleared for duty by the doctor yet?” <> “I need you on the bridge for a moment,” was all she stated, hoping he would be able to make it. <> “Davis out.” Closing communications, she grimaced as she let go of the pressure she had been putting on her arm. Rising from her chair, she looked around and found a shard of glass on the floor. Glancing into it she could see that she looked like hell. Shrugging off the thought, she went out onto the bridge to see about the repairs. (USS Dennison-Bridge-CO Madison Davis-14:30) Stepping onto the bridge, she went over to Ops first. “Ensign, how are you doing with the repairs?” <> “Well, I guess what I should be asking is what exactly is fried and how long will it take?” <> Madison pretty much knew the answer already having been in battle and repairing ships already in the past, but the Dennison and her crew were remarkable as they seemed to dig in and get things done quickly. Putting a hand on his shoulder, she said, “Just do your best. Some of the kinks will eventually work themselves out as other systems come online.” She took her hand off his shoulder, then turned around and saw …~Who is he? Ah, Tarapik.~ “Ensign Tarapik,” she stated while walking over to tactical. “You must be the newest member of my crew yet. How do you like your assignment so far?” She asked, jokingly. <> “Ah, don’t worry. Besides, it’s not everyone who gets there first posting and arrival after the ship’s been beaten. I know you’re probably not too familiar with our ship’s systems just yet. As soon as Ensign Divay comes back from sickbay I’ll have him give you a quick laydown so you know just what to do.” <> It was at that moment she heard the turbolift doors open, and she hoped it was Banowsky. Turning to see who it was, she was happy to see them on the bridge. Being a Skipper himself in the past, Chance had a rough idea of what she was going to ask; so he started preparing his report for her. “Ensign, how are you doing with the repairs?” Sounding a little frustrated “I feel like I’m running around in circles, whenever I get one thing fixed, something else on this dang board burns itself out, Cap’n.” Chance answered wanting to kick his console in hopes that would help. “Well, I guess what I should be asking is what exactly is fried and how long will it take?” “I started working on the controls for the navigational and short range sensor arrays, but they seemed to keep burning each other out. So I started working to fix the controls to run the low-level diagnostics, which is almost fixed, I hope. As for how long it will take to fix….I’m just not sure.” He said with a shrug of his shoulders. Putting a hand on his shoulder, the Captain said, “Just do your best. Some of the kinks will eventually work themselves out as other systems come online.” She took her hand off his shoulder, then turned around and walked away.
